- Tachocline: An area of rapid change between the convection zone and radiative zone, which is the inner two-thirds of the Sun.
- Thin film: Layer of semiconductor material about 1μm in thickness.
- Time-of-flight spectrometer: A type of mass spectrometer that measures the time it takes for an ion of known electrical change, but unknown mass, to reach a detector at a known distance in order to determine the mass-to-charge ratio of the particle.
- Transient four-wave mixing: The use of three laser pulses to study dynamical processes in materials.
