- Ligand: Atoms, molecules, or groups bound to a central polyatomic structure.
- Liquid crystal display: Thin, flat, and low-power device made up of colored pixels arrayed in front of a light source (or reflector).
- Lithography: Technique for printing or etching on a smooth surface.
- Local bubble: Uneven, egg-shaped cavity in nearby interstellar medium containing hot, diffuse gas and only about 10% of the hydrogen density typically found in the Milky Way.
