Phelps' Paper Most Highly Cited

Art Phelps won first prize, along with Z Lj Petrovic, for the most highly cited paper in the past 10 years from the journal Plasma Sources Science and Technology.  Their paper was titled "Cold-cathode discharges and breakdown in argon: surface and gas phase production of secondary electrons." The aim of the award was to recognize papers that have made a significant, long-term contribution to the journal and to the plasma physics community as a whole. In honor of the award, IOP Science has made the paper free to read online through 2010 (http://iopscience.iop.org/0963-0252/8/3/201).
