Event Details & Abstract: 

I will discuss recent work on tensor network models in which entanglement is intimately related to geometry. These models realize a number of important features of the holographic correspondence in quantum gravity, but they also give rise to new and interesting error-correcting codes which organize quantum information in a nontrivial geometric way. I will give an overview of these results and outline further applications in quantum information theory.
