Event Details & Abstract: 

High harmonic generation (HHG) inside a femtosecond enhancement cavity enables the direct conversion of a near-infrared frequency comb to vacuum and extreme ultraviolet (XUV) wavelengths.  Extending the precision of frequency combs to the XUV will allow access to important atomic and molecular spectra that are otherwise very difficult to probe.  However, intracavity ionization due to the high intensity circulating laser pulse has been demonstrated to be a limitation of this approach.  I will present some of our latest pump-probe measurements that directly measure this intracavity ionization in situ and describe our current system and progress towards dual-comb spectroscopy in the XUV.
