Postdoctoral Position at JILA and Department of Physics, University of Colorado, Boulder

The Department of Physics and JILA at the University of Colorado at Boulder invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate working in the interface between theoretical atomic, molecular, and optical physics (AMO), condensed matter physics (CM) and Quantum information Science. The position can start as early as March or as late as September 2010. The main area of interest will be on the use of ultracold atoms in optical lattices to simulate condensed matter materials and for quantum information processing. Priority will be given to those applicants with computational experience in algorithms such as adaptive time-dependent DMRG methods. The successful candidate will closely interact with Ana Maria Rey, Murray Holland and Victor Gurarie, as well as with other active experimental and theoretical groups at JILA and the Physics department.

Those interested in applying should download an application form available at http://jilawww.colorado.edu/employ/pdapp.pdf, complete it, and send it (along with requested supporting materials) to the Visiting Scientists Program Assistant. Initially, an unofficial copy of your graduate record is adequate. However, three letters of recommendation are required. Please use the name, Ana Maria Rey, in answering item 12. Additional information can be found at http://jilawww.colorado.edu/~arey, http://bdagger.colorado.edu, and http://spot.colorado.edu/~gurarie. The application deadline is Dec 15, 2009, but the applications will continue to be reviewed until the position is filled.
