AQIP:
A First Workshop on Analog Quantum Information Processing with Electrical Circuits
Boulder, Colorado
October 29 - November 1, 2008

About:

Recent experiments herald the emergence of a new quantum information sub-discipline, analog quantum information processing with electrical circuits. This discipline is defined by the ability to manipulate and measure the quantum state of an analog electrical circuit. Examples include generation of nonclassical states of a microwave field, and amplification of a field at the quantum limit. One can anticipate some of the discipline's future by extrapolating the quantum optics program to microwave frequencies; however, the compact, integrable properties of electrical circuits will create new capabilities and new applications. This workshop will assemble leading groups to discuss current progress and future applications of this discipline.

Topics include:

Quantum-limited microwave amplifiers

Generation of nonclassical and squeezed states of the microwave field

Applications to quantum computing, metrology, nanoscience, astrophysics, and high-energy physics
